VISIT TO THE VOLCANO TAJOGAITE (CUMBRE VIEJA)

Our exclusive logistics allow us to divide the route into key stations combining vehicle and hiking:

• Stop 1 – Descent through recent ash (4x4): We drive down black volcanic ash dunes with incredible panoramic views of the Aridane Valley, Caldera de Taburiente, Cumbre Nueva, and Tacande Volcano.
• Stop 2 – Secondary EAST Crater (4x4): Direct vehicle access to a spot completely accessible without walking, ideal for observing recent lava flows and interpreting the landscape.
• Final 4x4 Pickup: At the end of the walk, the vehicle picks you up to avoid the uphill return on foot, guaranteeing maximum comfort on hot days.

Once in the volcanic area, we will carry out our adapted main route, although we also offer an exclusive alternative for groups:

🔹 Standard Circular Option (2 hours - 2 km)

Our regular route. A walk through volcanic vegetation (Canarian pine, mulberry, fig trees) where we will visit active fumaroles to feel the volcano's heat, reaching the impressive SOUTH Crater, just 30 meters away from the main craters.

🔹 Reduced Option (Groups & Reduced Mobility Only - Under Request)

Designed exclusively for organized groups, agencies, families with young children, or seniors. It consists of an easy flat walk of just 17 min each way directly to the main craters. This option is not available on the public calendar; it must be requested and quoted in advance via WhatsApp or email.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: CLOSED-TOE shoes (hiking boots or sports sneakers) are strictly mandatory.

• Clothing: Comfortable clothes and some warm layers are recommended, as the altitude at Refugio del Pilar can make the temperature drop.
• Protection: Bring enough water and sun protection (cap, sunblock).
• Health: Due to the occasional presence of gases in the crater area, it is not recommended for people with severe respiratory problems.

Cancellation Policy:

• More than 48 hours notice: Free cancellation with a 100% refund.
• Between 48h and 24h notice: No refund, but a voucher valid for one year will be issued.
• Last 24 hours or No Show: No changes or refunds allowed.
• If the company cancels due to weather alerts, road closures by authorities, or force majeure, an alternative date or a full 100% refund will be offered.
